MIGRATION REGISTRATION

Migration Department Carries Out

  • Issuing invitations to students from visa countries (full-time and part-time studies);
  • Registration at the place of stay and extension of migration registration for full-time students living in University dormitories;
  • Extension of migration registration for full-time and part-time students living in apartments (if the purpose of entry “Study” is indicated in the migration card);
  • Registration and extension of a study visa for students from visa-free countries;
  • Registration of an invitation and registration for migration in the dormitory for students staying in the Russian Federation within the framework of academic mobility.

Invitation

Documents for issuing an invitation

  • Copy of the passport with a notarized translation into Russian. Attention! the validity period of the passport must be at least 2 years from the planned date of entry;
  • Copy of the educational documents with all supplement and a notarized translation into Russian;
  • Completed APPLICATION FORM and a valid email address.

Obtaining a Student Visa

Invitations are issued only in electronic form and sent to the Embassy/ The Consulate of the Russian Federation in your country. The deadline for issuing an invitation is 1 month

attention: The invitation is NOT issued to citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova.

After receiving a notification from the University that the invitation is ready, you should contact the Embassy/ The Consulate of the Russian Federation for obtaining a study visa. You can find out the list of necessary documents for obtaining a visa directly at the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation.

When obtaining a visa, we recommend checking the correct spelling of the installation data (First name, Last name and passport data), their complete coincidence with the spelling in the invitation, as well as checking the name of the University — Russian State Hydrometeorological University.

Border Control

Upon arrival in Russia all foreign citizens go through a border control procedure. To pass the border control, you must present the following documents:

  • passport;
  • visa (for foreign citizens with a visa regime of stay);
  • migration card (issued free of charge at the border upon entry into Russia).

Migration Card

  • It is necessary for legal stay on the territory of Russia.
  • It is obligatory for all international students (except citizens of the Republic of Belarus);
  • It is issued and issued free of charge;

Upon arrival on the territory of Russia by air, the migration card is issued at the airport at the checkpoint across the state border.

Upon arrival on the territory of Russia by land transport, a foreign citizen independently fills out a migration card – enters personal data, terms and purposes of stay in Russia at a land checkpoint across the state border.

When applying for a migration card, it is necessary to check the correctness of the entered data, including the indication of the purpose of the visit – “STUDY”.

Insurance

Every student must have health insurance, which includes:

  • Repatriation;
  • 500,000 rubles coverage.
